About Sophie
On a mission to make sure everyone has a profile picture that is worthy of their ambition & professional accomplishments—but that doesn't look like it was snapped at a mall or cropped out of a vacation photo from 2007.
After graduating from Connecticut College with a little-used degree in psychology, I started working as an assistant to a creative director and producer in the fashion industry. The days were long, and my role was un-glamorous: I picked up a lot of coffee orders (and green juice for the models). Still, I was hooked. I scrapped previous career plans, started booking my own photography gigs, and never looked back.
Eventually, small shoots turned into big events, like weddings and portrait sessions (work you can see here, if you’d like). More recently, I started working with driven and independent women pursuing their professional and personal passions–from the board room to the yoga studio—which has inspired me and my approach to photographing people.
A native New Yorker, I currently live in Upper Manhattan with my husband and two young children, none of whom like having their picture taken.
